Yashikira District in Kwara dumps PDP for ADC
In a major political move, the residents of Yashikira District, which includes the Gure/Gwassoro and Yashikira areas of Kwara State, have dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

At a meeting held in Gure, with representatives from all the villages in the district in attendance, the residents announced their decision to support the ADC, hoping for a brighter political future.

Both local PDP leaders from both areas, including the woman leader and other officials, have already stepped away from the party and shown their support for the ADC in the Baruten Local Government area of Kwara State.

During the gathering, Alhaji Hussein Mayan, the leader of Yashikira Ward, and Mallam Issa Barka, the leader of Gure/Gwassoro Ward, emphasized the importance of teamwork and commitment among the new party members.

They described the ADC as a party that focuses on honesty, community involvement, and working together for progress.

The large-scale change is a big blow to the PDP in the Baruten area and shows the growing presence and energy of the ADC in the northern part of Kwara State, especially as upcoming elections draw closer.
