Yahaya Bello pleads not guilty to N80bn money laundering charge
Former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello on Friday pleaded not guilty to a 19-count charge brought by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) against him before a Federal High Court in Abuja.

When the charges were read out to Bello before Justice Emeka Nwite, he entered a not guilty plea. The former governor is accused by the EFCC of money laundering to the tune of N80 billion. He pleaded not guilty to all the counts.

EFCC counsel Kemi Pinheiro (SAN), thereafter informed the court that the prosecution intends to withdraw an application earlier filed seeking a new date for the arraignment of Bello.
