WAEC set to release 2025 WASSCE results today, as over 1.9 Million candidates await outcome
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) will officially release the results of the May/June 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) today, Monday, August 4, 2025.

According to the council, a total of 1,973,253 candidates from 23,554 accredited secondary schools across the country participated in the school examination. The announcement is scheduled to be made by WAEC’s Head of National Office (HNO), Dr. Amos Dangut, at the council’s national headquarters in Yaba, Lagos.

This release marks a crucial moment for millions of candidates who sat for the examination with “awaiting result” status and have applied for admission into universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education for the 2024/2025 academic session. With many tertiary institutions already kickstarting their admission processes and announcing dates for post-UTME screening, the release of the WASSCE results comes just in time to determine the academic fate of many students.
