The legislative arm of the Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State has slammed a six-plenary sitting suspension on three councillors over allegations bordering on gross misconduct, abuse of office, and violation of their oath of office.
Those affected by the suspension are HFestus Inana representing Orogun Ward 9, Oke Isodje of Agbarho Ward 20, and Collins Arhiakpore from Agbarha Ward 1.
The suspension, which takes immediate effect, was unanimously adopted at a plenary session held on Thursday, July 31, 2025.
A suspension notice issued and signed by the Clerk of the legislative arm, Mr. Tagbajumi Emmanuel, disclosed that the trio will appear before a four-member ad-hoc disciplinary committee established to probe the allegations.
The committee is chaired by the House Majority Leader, Ese Agbobore, with Israel Palmar and Eshanome as members, while Henry Omonigho will serve as the secretary.

The committee has been given one month to investigate and present its findings to the House.
During the plenary, presided over by the Leader of the House, Prosper Ajero, the legislative body emphasized the importance of maintaining discipline, transparency, and ethical standards in public office.
The suspended councillors have been instructed to steer clear of all legislative activities pending the conclusion of the investigation.
The resolution was endorsed by 10 members of the council, with the leader of the House stating that the action was necessary to reinforce the council’s commitment to accountability and good governance.
