The Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), in collaboration with the Delta State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), is organizing a 4-day scale-up training on moral regeneration and reorientation for 700 teachers in the state.

The programme, which focuses on training the teachers to integrate moral education into their instruction, school activities, and guidance, is scheduled to be held from Wednesday, July 16, 2025, to Saturday, July 19, 2025, across the three senatorial districts of the state.

The statement adds that Mariere Primary School, Evwreni in Ughelli North is the venue for the programme in Delta Central.

The statement highlights that in recent years, the Nigerian society has witnessed a precipitous decline in moral standards, leading to a pervasive erosion of values, virtues, norms, and ethical practices.

It explained that the decay has had a devastating impact on the country’s growth and development, the effect that is also affecting basic education and, invariably, learning outcomes.

The statement added that the training programme is designed to mitigate the menace and change the narrative.
