Tragedy as mother, 2 children die in in Delta accident
Ifie Community in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State was thrown into mourning following the death of a mother and her two children, after a tanker ran into them on Friday.

Apart from the three family members confirmed dead from the incident, another child is in critical condition and receiving treatment at the Ikenwoli Hospital in Ubeji.

The deceased have been identified as Mrs. Joy Kura and her two children, Enoch Kura and Samuel Kura.

They are the family of a respected Redeemed Church pastor from Aja-Etan Community.

Although details of how the accident occurred are sketchy, an eyewitness, David Ejegi, said the family of four wete returning from school on a commercial motorcycle when the accident occurred.

Responding to the tragic incident, Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Weyinmi Agbateyiniro, paid a condolence visit to the bereaved family in Ifiekporo Community, expressing sorrow over the tragedy, and assured the family of the local government’s support.

Agbateyiniro also issued advised tanker drivers, to exercise caution while driving, and for them to adhere to traffic regulations.

Meanwhile, a community leader, Queen Amorighoye, has called the banning of commercial motorcycles, citing frequent collisions between tankers and motorcycles as a major concern.
