The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) says it is upgrading power transformers at the Agbara 132/33kV transmission sub-station in Ogun State, as part of the Lagos region initiative.
TCN General Manager Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, said the upgrade involves replacing two existing power transformers, increasing the sub-station’s capacity to meet the growing electricity demand in Agbara and its surrounding areas,.
He said once completed, three additional feeders will be installed at the sub-station.
“To minimize disruption during this process, TCN will replace one of the existing transformers while keeping the other in operation to ensure minimal load shedding.

“After the initial upgrade is completed and the first transformer is energized, the second transformer will be upgraded, ultimately increasing the sub-station’s total capacity from its current level to a new, higher capacity.
“We ask electricity consumers connected to the Agbara 132/33kV transmission sub-station to be patient during the upgrade period, as there may be temporary load shedding.
“We assure you that normal electricity supply will be restored as soon as the upgrade is finished,” TCN added.
