Suspected hoodlums attack student union bus

Suspected hoodlums have attacked a Toyota Hiace bus belonging to the Students’ Union Government of Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba-Akoko.

They were attacked while on the way to join the organized protest over the prolonged ASUU strike by students of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, AAUA, Olusegun Agagu University of Technology, Okitipupa, OAUSTECH, and the Federal University of Technology, Akure, FUTA.

The Trumpet learned that the incident occurred along Ogbese road in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State. A video of the incident received by our correspondent showed that the rear glass of the vehicle was broken by the attackers.

An eyewitness told The Trumpet that “the students were bashed by an Okada rider who was confronted for hitting the bus but he was said to have slapped one of the students “His action annoyed the students which later resulted in unrest in Ogbese.” President of the union, Ogunsanm Kolade, confirmed the incident. He alleged that the hoodlums damaged the bus.
