PSG defeats Arsenal 2-1 to book Champions League final spot
Paris Saint-Germain has defeated Arsenal with a 2-1 victory in the second leg on Wednesday night, sealing their place in the final with a 3-1 aggregate score.

The high-stakes encounter took place at Parc des Princes in Paris and kicked off at 9 PM local time (19:00 GMT). PSG, who have already wrapped up the Ligue 1 title with a dominant 19-point lead and two games to spare, delivered another statement win on the European stage.

Arsenal, currently second in the Premier League behind newly crowned champions Liverpool, came into the match needing to overturn a 1-0 first-leg deficit. Despite showing early energy and determination, the Gunners were undone by clinical finishing and defensive resilience from the French champions.

Fabian Ruiz opened the scoring for PSG in the first half, giving the home side a commanding 2-0 aggregate advantage. Although Vitinha missed a penalty early in the second half, Achraf Hakimi extended PSG’s lead with a sensational strike in the 72nd minute, putting the tie seemingly out of Arsenal’s reach.

Bukayo Saka sparked a flicker of hope for the visitors with a goal that brought the scoreline to 2-1 on the night. However, he missed a golden opportunity moments later to draw level, and despite Arsenal’s late pressure, PSG’s defense stood firm.

Saka’s late cross into the box was intercepted and cleared, and Thomas Partey’s long throw-in in stoppage time was also cleared by the PSG backline before the final whistle blew.

With this victory, PSG secures their place in the UEFA Champions League final, where they will face Inter Milan, who advanced after a thrilling 4-3 win over Barcelona on Tuesday.

As Paris celebrates and dreams of European glory, Arsenal is left to rue missed chances in a campaign that promised much but fell just short on the continent’s biggest stage.
