The Ebonyi State Police Command says it has uncovered more exhibits linked to the attack on the Amegu Nkalaha community, in lshielu Local government Area of the state.
This is contained in a statement issued on Friday, by the command’s spokesperson, SP Joshua Ukandu and made available to journalists in Abakalili.
Ukandu stated that in line with the commitment of the Commissioner of Police, Adaku Uche-Anya, to eliminate criminal elements from Ebonyi State, operatives of the command, in collaboration with troops of the Nigerian Army, acted on credible intelligence to target hoodlum camps located in Amegu and Umulesha villages, both in Nkalaha community.
He said that upon sighting the combined team of security operatives, the hoodlums opened fire but were however, over-powered by the superior firepower of the joint security team.

The police spokesman disclosed that the suspects fled into the bush, while one of the hoodlums was arrested during the operation.
He added that the security operatives destroyed the hoodlums’ shrines and camps in both villages, recovering two dane guns, a mobile phone, and a motorcycle in the process.
“The command remains dedicated to its efforts and will continue to pursue those involved in the attack to ensure they face justice.
“Furthermore, we urge residents of Ebonyi State to remain vigilant and support the command by reporting any suspicious activity to the command,” the police said.
