A woman identified as Ihsanatu Shaaibu and one other unidentified suspect have been arrested by the police for physically abusing her five-year-old stepdaughter.
Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, made this known in a statement issued on Thursday night. He said that the arrest followed a viral video of the incident on social media.
Adejobi stated that, the arrest took place on Thursday, asserting that investigations are now underway to ensure justice is served.

“In relation to the viral video where a woman identified as Ihsanatu Shaaibu physically abused and caused grievous injuries to her stepdaughter Fa’iza Bala, a five- year- old.
“The suspects have been arrested today, Thursday, 9th January, 2025, and will be prosecuted as soon as investigations are concluded. We will keep you abreast of the proceedings. Thank you,” he wrote.
