According to a press release by the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Edafe Bright on Thursday, the case was reported on December 12, 2024, by Hyacinth Nnalue, a cousin of the deceased.

He noted that investigations, led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ekpan, CSP Aliyu Shaba, uncovered a conspiracy among Udalor’s workers, who allegedly killed him after discovering funds in his Moniepoint account.

“On March 31, 2025, police operatives arrested one of the suspects, David Tacho, while he attempted to withdraw money from the victim’s account using his phone. Further investigation led to the arrest of another suspect, Daniel Orshio, who reportedly participated in the killing.

While David Tacho and Daniel Orshio are now in police custody, Victor Tacho and Pius Daniel remain at large,” he stated.
