Operatives of the Eagle-Net Surveillance Team under the Delta State Police Command have arrested two suspected cultists in Warri, for unlawful possession of firearms and cult-related items.
The arrest took place during a routine stop-and-search operation along the Otokutu Bridge in Ughelli North Local Government Area on June 18, 2025, at about 12:20 pm.
Police sources said the suspects were intercepted in a black Toyota Corolla with registration number RSH 90 RC.
The vehicle was driven by Telvin Richmond, 27, accompanied by Frank Obiorah, 26, both residents of Opete by Otokutu.
The police said the weapons and cult insignia were concealed inside the door compartments of the vehicle in an apparent attempt to evade detection.

Preliminary investigations have confirmed that both suspects are members of the Aiye Confraternity, a notorious cult groups.
Richmond reportedly confessed to purchasing the firearm in 2024 for ₦87,000 from another suspect who is currently at large.
Both suspects are currently in police custody, and an ongoing investigation is underway to apprehend other accomplices and trace the origin of the weapons.
In another development, operatives of the Special Anti-Kidnapping and Cybercrime Squad, while investigating a native doctor, Okonji Chimeze, of Umuehe Quarter in Ibusa, on June 14, 2025, recovered two automatic pump-action guns and one cutlass from the suspect’s residence.
The police revealed that the items were hidden inside the ceiling of the suspect’s room.
It added that the suspect and exhibits are in custody as the investigation is ongoing.
