Police from Ebute-Ero Division in Lagos State have arrested for stealing ₦20 million worth of human hair from a moving truck.
The arrest followed a swift police response to a tip-off about a daring highway theft on the CMS-Marina Bridge, according to Benjamin Hundeyi, the state police command Public Relations Officer.
“On April 25, 2025, a criminal gang intercepted a moving truck along the CMS-Marina Bridge and stole a large sack containing assorted human hair extensions worth approximately ₦20 million. The driver was unaware of the theft until later.
“Acting on intelligence, officers from the Lagos State Police Command arrived at the scene and tracked down one of the suspects, identified as Austine (male). The suspect was found hiding in the Marina car park under the bridge, where he had sustained injuries after jumping from the bridge in an attempt to escape arrest.

He explained that Police recovered the stolen goods in his possession and took him to a hospital for medical treatment under close surveillance. Adoing that authorities have launched a manhunt for other gang members involved in the robbery.
According to the statement, the Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, reiterated the command’s dedication to ensuring the safety of road users across Lagos. He urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to security agencies promptly.
