The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a 28-year-old ex-convict, Olayinka Oluwaseyi, for attempting to rob a motorist on the Mile 12 Bridge.
The arrest, which occurred around 1:30 am on May 13, was made by patrol officers from the Ketu Division, who acted swiftly to foil the robbery.
According to police sources, Oluwaseyi was found armed with a knife during the attempted robbery.
One accomplice managed to flee the scene and is currently at large. Police have launched a manhunt to apprehend the fleeing suspect.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Oluwaseyi was released from prison just three months ago after serving time for a similar offense.
He is currently in police custody and will be charged in court after investigations are concluded.
