The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Thursday, rejected a correspondence listing officers purported to have been elected from the suspended South-South zonal congress held in Calabar, on Saturday, February 22, 2025.
The letter signed by Chief Dan Orbih and Alabb George Turnah, both as national vice-chairman and zonal secretary was submitted to the directorate of mobilisation, and subsequently stamped rejected.
The letter had the rejected stamp printed boldly all over it.

Recall that the NWC had postponed the zonal congress and communicated the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) about the decision.
But the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike mobilized his allies to Calabar, and conducted the zonal congress
Among the zonal officers purportedly elected at the gathering were, Chief Dan Orbih as chairman, and Alabo George Turner, as secretary .
Others include, Mrs. Evelyn Weke, Ijeoma Oban, Timothy Okwocha, Briggs Iyemeni, Prince Etim Isong, Loveday Abaribote, Philomina Esubok and Patrick Asuquo
