Pastor Paul Adefarasin under investigation over controversial video
The Senior Pastor of House on the Rock, Paul Adefarasin is being investigated by the Lagos State Police Command after a video of him holding what looked like a gun went viral.

The footage, taken on June 6, 2025, shows Adefarasin lowering the tinted window of his car, while holding the object in his right hand.

In the video, a person recording the scene can be heard apologizing, saying, “boss, boss, sorry sir, sorry sir,” as the pastor drives away.

The video sparked heated discussion online, with many people questioning whether the pastor showed a firearm in public.

In response to the controversy, Adefarasin addressed his congregation during a Sunday service on June 8, 2025, saying, “you may have seen a video going around showing me in a way that some people misunderstood as me showing a gun.

“I assure you, that was not a gun, and I never pointed anything at anyone.”

However, the police have confirmed that Adefarasin is working with them as they investigate the situation.

The police said they are looking into what the object the pastor holding was and the events that led to the video being recorded.

Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos State police spokesperson, announced that the pastor has reported to the police headquarters in Ikeja and is being questioned by detectives.

“We have started investigation since the video surfaced, which shows Adefarasin with the object while driving an unregistered vehicle,” Hundeyin said.

The police promised to share the results of their investigation with the public once it is completed.
