Former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo paid an emotional and passionate homage to his wife, Dolapo, on their 35th wedding anniversary.

As Osinbajo reflected on their decades-long marriage, he emphasised the breadth of his wife’s love, dedication, and contributions to their family and community.

Osinbajo called his wife the embodiment of selflessness and commitment, in an X message brimming with appreciation and affection posted on Monday.

“Every year of these 35 years, you’ve proved that true love is not a myth or a fanciful phrase—through your willingness to give up everything for me and our children, through your generosity with your time, skills, and great faith by which you have helped us all navigate our sometimes bewildering journey,” he wrote.

Dolapo Osinbajo, a lawyer, novelist, and social activist, has long been known for her valuable services to the community.

“In all of this, you’ve written several books, run several national prayer meetings, run shelters for vulnerable women, trained thousands of young people in various skills, crocheted a storm, and developed numerous gardens,” the former vice president continued, reflecting on her exceptional combination of personal and societal impact.

As he closed his passionate statement, Osinbajo expressed his sincere thanks to God for the gift of his wife, solidifying his love with the words: “I thank God every day for the gift of you to me. I adore you constantly. Happy 35th anniversary.”
