OMO Foundation celebrates 5 years of humanitarian service, commissions Borehole projects in Koko

The OMO Foundation, led by its founder, Dr. Oritsegbegbemi Maurice Ojoede has marked its 5th anniversary with a grand event in Koko, Warri North Local Government Area. The occasion featured the commissioning of three borehole projects, a significant achievement that underscores the foundation’s commitment to community development.

Since its establishment five years ago, the OMO Foundation has consistently championed community-based support programs, social welfare initiatives, youth and women empowerment schemes, and human capital development projects. These efforts have garnered national and international recognition for the foundation’s unwavering dedication to improving lives and fostering societal growth.

Dr. Ojoede expressed gratitude for the journey thus far, emphasizing the importance of partnerships and collaborations in achieving the foundation’s goals.

The anniversary celebration was attended by dignitaries from various sectors, including the Delta State PDP Chairman, Hon. Chief Solomon Areyenka JP, who commissioned one of the borehole projects. Commending the foundation, Hon. Areyenka praised its role in addressing the critical need for clean drinking water in Koko.

In a similar vein, the Chairman of Warri North LGA, Hon. Festus Ashima, lauded Dr. Ojoede for his dedication to community service, highlighting the impact of the newly commissioned boreholes on local residents.

Over the past half-decade, OMO Foundation has achieved remarkable milestones including; Provided learning opportunities for vulnerable children, safeguarding them from exploitation and abuse, established 50 clean drinking water systems in Koko and other communities, distributed free sanitary pads to 15–20-year-old girls and implemented sustainable sanitation and hygiene programs.and delivered free medical care and vaccination programs to thousands of beneficiaries.
Others include; Distribution of food items to 5,000 individuals and supporting agricultural initiatives to enhance food availability and Funding education for indigent students, fostering a brighter future for underserved populations.

These initiatives have collectively impacted over 10,000 lives, transforming communities and addressing critical needs.

The event also served as a platform to express gratitude to the community, partners, and beneficiaries for their continued support. Dr. Ojoede highlighted the role of divine guidance and resources in achieving the foundation’s mission.

The anniversary celebration drew a host of prominent figures, including Hon. Chief Solomon Areyenka, Hon. Barr. Harry ThankGod, Hon. Festus Ashima, Dr. Richard Omare, Chief Udueyin, and Mr. Ese Darlington, alongside other party leaders, youths, women, and community partners.
