Former Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has fired a salvo at his accusers, vowing to drag a social media personality, Diamond Osakoigho, popularly known as Paranran, to court for allegedly spreading “outrageous falsehoods” about his involvement in a multi-billion naira pipeline security contract scandal.
In a statement released on Sunday and signed by his Media Adviser, Sunny Areh, Sen. Omo-Agege, categorically denied ever receiving funds from Tantita Security Services Limited, a private security firm contracted by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) to provide pipeline surveillance services in the oil-rich Niger Delta.
The statement.is a reaction to a video circulating on Facebook, Instagram, and other social media platforms, showing Paranran accusing Omo-Agege of corruptly pocketing billions of naira meant for the Urhobo youth through alleged dealings with Tantita.
“These allegations are completely baseless, false and without merit,” the statement said.
“Senator Omo-Agege is not a security contractor and has no contractual or business dealings with Tantita, NNPCL, or any other entity regarding pipeline surveillance, and he has never received any financial benefits from them for pipeline security surveillance services.”
Describing the viral claims as “malicious lies crafted to tarnish Senator Omo-Agege’s reputation and undermine his political career,” the statement accused Paranran of deliberately trying to sow animosity, especially among the Urhobo youth, against the senator.
“It’s clear that Paranran’s statements are fabricated, aimed at stirring up animosity among the public, particularly the Urhobo youth, against Senator Omo-Agege,” the statement said.
“His attempts to manipulate the truth for a nefarious political agenda will not prevail, as the Urhobo people recognize Senator Omo-Agege’s dedication to their welfare.”
The statement further revealed that this is not Paranran’s first public attack on Omo-Agege, adding that although previous legal actions were held back out of respect for him as a constituent, the senator has decided enough is enough.
“Leniency has been misconstrued as weakness,” Areh said.

“Senator Omo-Agege has now instructed his counsel to commence legal proceedings, giving Paranran the chance to back up his claims while ensuring that those behind these harmful lies face the full force of the law. It is time to put up or shut up.”
Political analysts note that the accusations strike at the heart of two sensitive issues in Delta politics, the lucrative world of oil pipeline surveillance contracts and the fiercely competitive political space in the Niger Delta.
The involvement of Tantita Security Services Limited adds further intrigue, given its prominence in regional oil infrastructure protection and its links to major political players.
For Omo-Agege, who recently contested the Delta State governorship and remains a key figure in regional and national politics, the episode appears to mark a turning point in his willingness to absorb public attacks without legal retaliation.
“This time, Senator Omo-Agege is determined to defend his name and ensure that those peddling falsehoods are held accountable,” the statement concluded.
