NUJ condoles Sokoto SSG over loss of daughter, grandchildren in inferno
The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Sokoto State chapter has expressed its deep condolences to Alhaji Muhammad Sifawa, the secretary to the Sokoto State Government, following the tragic loss of his daughter, Rabi’atu Sifawa, along with her three children and a house help in a fire that broke out early Monday morning at their home.

In their message signed by the council’s Chairman, Usman Benji and Secretary, Muhammad Bello, the NUJ described the incident as an act of God and recognised the immense pain the incident has caused not just to the immediate family but to the entire Sokoto State community.

The NUJ extended their sympathies to Alhaji Muhammadu Bello, the bereaved husband and conveyed their heartfelt sorrow to Governor Ahmed Sokoto, Senator Aliyu Wamakko, and the people of Sokoto State.

The NUJ offered prayers for the departed souls and for the bereaved family, wishing them strength to endure this profound tragedy.

The victims, including Rabi’atu and her three children—Fatimatu, Maryam, and Abubakar—alongside the house help, Aishatu Muhammad, have been laid to rest according to Islamic customs.
