The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Delta State Command, has deployed 958 personnel across the state to ensure a peaceful and secure Easter celebration.
The deployment, which covers all parts of the state including identified black spots and flashpoints, was announced on Friday, April 18, 2025, by the State Commandant, Commandant Matthew Sunday Ovye, via a statement released by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSC Anthony Uchenna.
In a briefing to officers ahead of the festivities, Commandant Ovye urged professionalism and vigilance, emphasizing the need to match intelligence with action to prevent any breach of peace.

He also reiterated the Corps’ commitment to the protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure, urging officers to work in synergy with other security agencies throughout the Easter period.
Commandant Ovye assured residents of Delta State that adequate security arrangements have been made, encouraging them to celebrate the season without fear or apprehension.
The deployment is part of a broader strategy by the NSCDC to ensure a crime-free festive season in line with its mandate.
