The Federal Government of Nigeria has finalized evacuation arrangements for its citizens currently stranded in Israel and Iran, as tensions between the two Middle Eastern nations intensify into a full-scale regional crisis.
Speaking during a press conference in Abuja on Thursday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, confirmed that the government has activated emergency protocols and is coordinating efforts to safely evacuate Nigerians caught in the crossfire of the escalating conflict.
The move comes as violent clashes in the region enter their seventh consecutive day, triggering widespread global concern over civilian safety and the potential for a broader humanitarian disaster. Tuggar emphasized that the safety and security of Nigerian nationals remain the government’s top priority and commended the swift response of the Nigerian missions in Tel Aviv and Tehran.
In an official statement issued by the ministry’s spokesperson, Kimiebi Ebienfa, the Foreign Minister called on all Nigerians still residing in the conflict zones to comply strictly with safety advisories and promptly reach out to the nearest Nigerian embassies for guidance and evacuation updates.
