Zamfara CP tasks officers on commitment, decorates promoted SPs

The Commissioner of Police, Zamfara State Command, CP Ayuba N. Elkanah, has called on police officers in the Command to put more commitment and professionalism in the discharge of their duty.

Elkanah gave the charge on Wednesday in Gusau, the state’s capital city while decorating nineteen newly promoted Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) to the substantive rank of Superintendents of Police (SPs).

In a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, SP Mohammed Shehu, the CP thanked the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba and the Police service Commission (PSC) for the promotion of the officers and other welfare initiatives to officers and men of the Force.

According to the CP, the gesture will go a long way in boosting the morale of personnel and enhancing their service delivery.

Elkanah was assisted in the decorations by the DC Operations, DCP Dauda Mamma, and DC Department of Finance and Administration, DCP Olugbenga Adepoju.

While congratulating the newly promoted officers, the CP charged them to reciprocate the gesture of the IGP and PSC by being committed to their responsibility.

Among the officers promoted are SP Sadiq Umar, O/C Highway Patrol, SP Sadiq Mohammed, Staff Officer Senior (SOS), and SP Babangida Abubakar, P&G OPs, the police spokesperson stated.

While giving a vote of thanks on behalf of the promoted officers, SP Babangida Abubakar, expressed appreciation to the IGP and Police Service Commission for the promotion.

Abubakar promised to reciprocate the gesture through hard work, and commitment in line with professional ethics and international best practices.

The decoration ceremony was attended by members of the management team, and other senior police officers of the Command.
