Wizkid Win Big at MOBOs Award

As Nigerian musicians continued to make wave on the International arena, Nigerian music superstar, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid made history at the 2021 Music of Black Origin, also known as the MOBOs, after winning the Best International Act and Best African Act awards.

The two awards made it a total of five Wizkid has won at the MOBO events.

The 2021 Music of Black Origin, was held at the Coventry Building Society Arena, U.K, and on YouTube on Sunday night, 4th December, 2021 and was hosted by Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Munya Chawawa.

Wizkid was nominated in the Best African Music Act of the year category along with Ayra Starr, Ckay, Burna Boy, Davido, King Promise, NSG, Rema, Tiwa Savage and Tems.

However, he was also nominated in the Best international act category against Megan Thee Stallion, Doja Cat, Drake, Kanye West, Lil Nas X, Polo G, Rema, Skillibeng, and Young Stoner Life.

The MOBO Awards are an annual British music award presentation honouring achievement in “music of black origin”, including hip hop, grime, R&B, soul, reggae, jazz, gospel, and African music.
