Why I renovate Zamfara mosque- Christian Corp member

By Suru Charles

The need for Nigerians to put aside their differences by promoting religious tolerance has become a source of concern to the twenty-five years old Corp member presently undergoing his one-year mandatory service in Zamfara State.

Demonstrating this, the Christian Corp member, Mr Jeremiah Shimasaan, as noticed by The Trumpet, has gone ahead to shoulder the responsibility of not only constructing and renovating the ablutions points situated in one of the mosques located in Gusau, the state capital but also went as far as renovating some of the mosque toilets.

He also added suggestion boxes at the main entrance of both the State Radio and Television Services administrative block by the Corp member.

He said he was geared towards reducing the stress of getting clean drinking water for ablution, especially for the Muslim ummah during prayers.

On the suggestion boxes, he believed would assist the two Broadcasting stations in collecting and collating suggestions and emails for administrative purposes.

“My decision to have the project in a Mosque is to promote religious tolerance, unity, and Peaceful coexistence among people of different faith”.

Adding that “If all of us in this country will respect each other’s faith, and love one another unconditionally, we will have the Nigeria of our dreams without killing or attacking one another.”

While commissioning the projects, the Permanent Secretary of the State Ministry of Environment, Ahmad Liman, described the Christian corp member as a “unifier.”

His decision to uplift the standard of the Mosque conveniences and ablution point, as opined by the Permanent Secretary, will surely attract the corp member Allah’s blessings, guidance, and protection at all times.”

Beckoning at other corps members posted to the state, to borrow leaves from Shimasaan’s such gestures, he believed would go a long way in promoting peace and unity among people irrespective of any differences

Also overwhelmed by the corp member projects, the Chairman of the State Radio and Television Services, Sa’idu Maishanu, described the projects as a welcome development.
