We are united and focused, Maguire lashes at critics over captain armband

Harry Maguire has lashed at critics over the perceived intention of losing his captaincy to Cristiano Ronaldo saying that the Manchester United team is ‘united and focused’.
According to the Mirror on Thursday, Maguire and Ronaldo were involved in a tussle for leadership in the United squad at Old Trafford, with Ronaldo exercising more command in the dressing room despite Maguire’s role as captain.
It is alleged that captain Maguire is feeling his control in the dressing room has been marginalised greatly by Ronaldo who the interim United boss Rangnick, over a discussion, wants to give the captain armband to.

Over the claim, Maguire has taken to his Twitter account and said, “I’ve seen a lot of reports about this club that aren’t true and this is another.
“Not going to start posting about everything that is written but I needed to make this one clear.“We are united and focused. Enjoy your day everyone,” he added.
Maguire was named United captain just half-a-season into his time at Old Trafford, with the defender replacing Ashley Young as skipper following his move to Inter Milan in January 2020.
