United announce Erik ten Hag’s appointment

Manchester United have announced the appointment of Erik ten Hag as the club’s manager after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked last year, November 21, 2021.

United have on a temporary basis appointed interim manager Ralf Rangnick to oversee the team until the end of the season after Solskjaer left.

In Rangnick’s stead, the club continue to struggle to maintain a run of form and recently were humiliated by Liverpool in a 4-0 defeat at Anfield.

According to Rangnick, the team needed to be rebuilt noting that the moment he stepped in, that was one area he noticed the club was lacking.

However, since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson from Manchester United, Erik ten Hag becomes the fifth manager to be appointed on a permanent deal.

Ten Hag elated by the news expressed that it was honour to be appointed Manchester United manager, ESPN report.

“It is a great honour to be appointed manager of Manchester United and I am hugely excited by the challenge ahead,” he said.

“I know the history of this great club and the passion of the fans, and I am determined to develop a team capable of delivering the success they deserve,” he added.

The 52 years old gaffer, who spent 5 years in charge of Ajax, expressed that it would be hard to leave the club after such a wonderful time and promised to finish the season on a good note before heading to England.

“It will be difficult to leave Ajax after these incredible years, and I can assure our fans of my complete commitment and focus on bringing this season to a successful conclusion before I move to Manchester United,” he said.

Manchester United signed Erik ten Hag in a three-year deal with an option of an extra year should he meet the contractual agreement The Trumpet gathered.

The Red Devils according to Daily Mirror, will make available £200millon to Erik ten Hag to strengthen the depth of the team.
