Terrorists kill three, injure many, abduct dozens in Katsina

Suspected terrorists have killed three persons at Dantsauni village in Batagrawa Local Government Area of Katsina state.

Also, terrorists have abducted at least 13 people including women and children, at Natsinata village, in Katsina local government area.

The Dantsauni incident occurred at about 11am Wednesday morning, with dozens of people said to have been abducted by the ravaging terrorists.

One of the victims, Abdulrahman Abba was killed after he left the state capital for his farm located in the affected community.

The attack also saw several people sustain injuries, including many that had fled their homes and farmlands when the attack occurred.

When contacted, the spokesperson for the police command in the state, SP Gambo Isah confirmed the incident.

Isah, however, said that the terrorists killed one person and injured two others during the attack.

Also, terrorists at about 9:30 pm on Wednesday abducted 13 people including four married women, two girls and seven others consisting of boys and men in Natsinata community.

The community is located right beside the 35 Batallion Barracks of the Nigerian Army, and it was learnt the terrorists operated without hindrance from security operatives.

A source in the area said the terrorists had gone from house to house and abducted 26 people, but they later set 13 free and went away with the rest.

The state which has been grappling with security challenges has seen hundreds of people killed or abducted in recent months.

This is in addition to hundreds of farmlands and dozens of communities that have been abandoned by residents due to the security situation.

SP Gambo Isah was yet to respond to an inquiry on the Natsinta community incident as at the time of this report.
