Terrorists kill three, abduct school principal, others in Katsina

Three people have been killed while dozens of others have been injured after terrorists attacked three communities in Funtua Local Government Area of Katsina State.

The attacks were carried out at Yan Tabki, Unguwar Isyaka and Company Daudawa communities, from midnight on Monday into the morning hours of Tuesday.

Three victims were killed at Unguwar Isyaka, while the principal of a government secondary school was abducted at Yan Tabki and an unspecified number of cows were rustled at Company Daudawa.

A community head was reported to have also been abducted by the terrorists, but it’s unclear which of the communities he was kidnapped from.

It was learnt that several people sustained injuries in the three communities during the attack, while dozens of people have since deserted the affected communities.

Funtua is among council areas bedevilled by security challenges in the state, with more than eight Frontline councils facing similar challenges in the state.

Police spokesperson in the state, SP Gambo Isah was yet to respond to inquiry on the incident at the time of this report.
