Ten Hag, not expected this time soon since Ralf Rangnick was in situ, has raised the confidence the club have reposed in him for coming ahead of time before Rangnick plays his last match on Sunday at Selhurst Park against Crystal Palace.

Van der Gaag, who is expected to be confirmed as one of the former Ajax Boss’ assistants alongside Steve McClaren, who was also assistant to Sir Alex Ferguson from 1999 to 2001, accompanied Ten Haag to discuss the transfer strategy to adopt for the season and other structural issues.

The Red Devils’ boss earlier thought would accompany Ajax to a tour, jetted into London through a chartered flight to meet with the club management to discuss a wide range of issues.

According to reports, the 53-year-old football manager will be at Selhurst Park on Sunday to watch the team play against Crystal Palace in the last Premier League fixture for the season.

More so, Erik ten Hag is keen on United confirming Mitchell van der Gaag and Steve McClaren as his assistant and backroom staff and his energy has been described by the club hierarchy as “authoritative” and “clear in how to implement his vision.”
