The Taraba State chapter of the All Progressive Congress, APC, has expelled from the party the Senator-elect for Taraba South senatorial district, Jimkuta S.U David.

Sirajo Sallau, Takum local government council chairman of the party, made this known on Saturday in the letter made available to journalists in Jalingo. He said David’s expulsion was necessitated by his “gross anti-Party activities in the just concluded general election.”

It would be recalled that the embattle Senator-elect to have defeated the incumbent governor of the state, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku in the just concluded senatorial election.

His expulsion from the party, according to Sallau, was arrived at following the recommendations of the disciplinary Committee, which he said was earlier set up to investigate his “alleged gross anti-party activities.”

According to the committee, his expulsion from the party was necessary due to his “sponsorship and open campaigning for a rival political party, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Taraba state and its governorship candidate.”
