Leverkusen set to sign City’s Sam Edozie

Bayer Leverkusen have agreed with Premier League champions Manchester City to sign 19 years old winger Sam Edozie, reports revealed.

Sam Edozie, a product of City’s youth team featured only once for the Pep Guardiola’s senior squad last season in the Community Shield against Leicester City where they lost 1-0.

According to Fabrizio Romano, a two-year contract valid until 2024 will be signed soon after an agreement was reached with Manchester City to bring the winger to the Bundesliga. The Trumpet Gathered

If the deal is completed, Edozie will become the latest youngster to leave England to the Bundesliga to further his career after the likes of Jadon Sancho, Jude Bellingham, and Reece Oxford took this route.

Sancho left Manchester City to join Borussia Dortmund where he performed to earn him a big-money move to Old Trafford. Back in England, the player has tried to replicate the same Bundesliga form but has struggled
in the process.

While Bellingham, who signed for Dortmund in 2020 from Birmingham in a deal worth over £25m plus add-ons, became the most expensive 17-year-old player in history.
