2023: APC Rep’s candidate assures constituents of effective representation

The All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives candidate for Abakaliki/Izzi federal constituency in Ebonyi State, Chief Emmanuel Uguru, has assured he would initiate bills that will impart positively on the lives of his constituents if elected.
He dismissed fear making the rounds that none indigenes residing within the state capital risk losing their properties if an Izzi man emerged as the governor of the state.
The lower chamber candidate spoke in Abakaliki, during the ongoing media parley organized by the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ebonyi state.
He described as imaginary the belief that the people of Izzi were divided among political lines and that would affect the chances of Izzi of producing the next governor of the state in 2023.
He opined that the 2023 general election is the first election the people of Izzi clan will vote one way.
“This is the first election an Izzi man will go almost 90 percent one way
“It is an imaginary issue, 100 percent imaginary. The moment you are unpopular, you bring out issue of dichotomy and you begin to pretend that you are looking for your own people. In the National Assembly, the two kindreds in Izzi are there”, he said.
The former ALGON Chairman promised quality representation through periodic interaction with his constituents if elected a House of Representatives member.

“What I will do differently is I understand in my little way that legislation has a lot to do with interaction. People go on campaign, they come out. You only hear about them by the time they are asking for votes again. It can never be the same thing with me.
“There should be periodic meetings with constituents to get their views and needs. This is what will happen under my tenure as a legislator
“Out of 12, there must be Judas but to what extent has Judas succeeded? That does not represent the opinion of Izzi people, it does not. If it did, that thing they wanted to do, they would have succeeded.
“That issue should be disregarded, it shouldn’t be what anybody should hold on to. My advice is should anybody come to take over your property, use legal means, don’t go fighting the person.
“One of the best ways to handle any threat of losing your property by anyone, you can report to me. My legislative work has started even before I win, it has started”.
