Akpudje Joshua records clean sheet in A Lyga

Center back Akpudje Joshua maintained a clean sheet for FK Panevėžys in Saturday’s match against Banga in Lithuania’s topflight league, A Lyga.

The Nigerian international who played in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) for MFM before plying his trade in Latvia for BFC Daugavpils in the higher league, spending two seasons, switched to FK Panevėžys three months ago in February 2022.

FK Panevėžys presently top the A Lyga table and extended the lead over FC Hegelmann to 5 points after the latter narrowly slipped from a loss to FK Žalgiris with a stoppage-time equaliser. The Trumpet Gathered

Akpudje, a regular for the Lithuanian league leaders, has ensured the club maintains a consecutive four clean sheets in its eighth this season.

After the match, the excited Akpudje said, “3 points collected and a clean sheet and unto the next one forever grateful lord.”

FK Panevėžys next fixture is against fourth place Riteriai at home in the Mainland Progymnasium Stadium to continue their blistering A Lyga campaign.
