Barcelona officially signs Aubameyang on a free transfer

Arsenal revealed that the 32 years old left the Emirates on mutual consent to the Nou Camp, signing a three and half year deal with a release clause of £83.4m.

Barcelona allowed Aubameyang to train with his new teammates on Tuesday despite still working out the contract agreement. He was officially confirmed as a Barcelona player on Wednesday.

Aubameyang, who dramatically engineered his move to Nou Camp, wants to help his new team move up into the Champions League spot.

In an interview after Barcelona had officially signed him, he said he was excited to be a part of the team because he is partly a Spanish descendant. He added that he will work assiduously to help the team move up into the Champions League spot.

Aubameyang said, “I’m very proud, especially because my mother is Spanish.

“I’m proud and happy to be here. My main goal is to help the team and give everything I can to bring the team back into the Champions League and stuff like that.

“It’s amazing to have him (Xavi) as a coach, he’s been a fantastic player as everyone knows and I’m sure as a coach, there is a lot to learn from him,” he added.

The Gabonese international and former Arsenal striker stated that he is determined to excel in his new club.
