Ekiti police raid kidnappers den, arrest nine suspects

Operatives of the Ekiti State Police Command have hit hard on criminal elements terrorizing the state following the latest arrest of nine suspected kidnappers.

The arrest of the suspects was disclosed to The Trumpet by the police spokesperson Abutu Sunday, an Assistant Superintendent of Police(ASP).

According to the police image maker, “As part of the ongoing strategic effort of the Ekiti State Police Command to rid the state of criminal elements with the aim of ensuring the security of lives and property of the good people of Ekiti State. The Command operatives heavily bombarded vast forests known to harbour bandits in the state.

The operation was prompted by an intelligence report that there are criminals in Ago Aduloju forest. During the raid, the criminals attacked police operatives with dangerous weapons and in the process, one of the policemen sustained serious injuries.

The State Commissioner of Police (CP) Moronikeji Adesina while assuring residents of the State said that the command will not relent in its fight against crimes and criminalities in Ekiti state.

She called on the host communities to support the police by providing timely information, adding that the suspects arrested during the operation will be made to face the full wrath of the law.
