NBA star LeBron James has broken the NBA record for most combined points in the regular season and playoffs.
In their recent loss to Golden State Warriors, James’ Los Angeles Lakers in a hard-fought contest, could not secure a win despite overturning a 15 points deficit during the game.
James was outstanding despite the loss to set a new record for most combined points in the regular season and playoffs.
The previous record-holder, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who had been the all-time leading regular season and playoffs scorer, finished his career with 44,149 combined points, 38,387 and 5,762, for regular season and playoffs respectively.
The Los Angeles Lakers star, who needed 19 points to surpass Abdul-Jabbar’s record on Saturday night, scored a total of 26 points to get to 44157 points for both regular season and playoffs.

Meanwhile, while he is still third when it comes to regular-season scoring, James in 2017, overtook NBA legend Michael Jordan for the number one spot on the all-time postseason scoring list.
Ultimately, the Los Angeles Lakers star is now less than 2,000 points from passing Abdul-Jabbar as the number one regular-season scorer in NBA history and 500 points away from overtaking second-placed Karl Malone.
Presently on average, James records a total of 29points per game, the highest ever by a 19-year-old player.
More so, if James continues at this level, he will end up becoming, by the end of next season, the all-time leading scorer in both regular season and playoff.
