SERAP asks Kwankwaso, Obi to declare assets

Civil society group, Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, SERAP, has demanded a full declaration of assets from presidential candidates Rabiu Kwankwaso of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and Peter Obi of Labour Party (LP).

SERAP wants the duo to emulate the presidential candidate of African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, by publicly declaring their assets.

The rights activism group made the demand in a series of messages on  its Twitter handle.

SERAP  also wants the two politicians to publicly denounce vote-buying and electoral bribery before and during the 2023 general  election.

“Dear @PeterObi, ahead of the February 2023 presidential election, we are again calling on you to show leadership by urgently publishing details of your assets and publicly rejecting vote-buying and electoral bribery before and during the elections.

“Dear @KwankwasoRM, ahead of the February 2023 presidential election, we are again calling on you to show leadership by urgently publishing details of your assets and publicly rejecting vote-buying and electoral bribery before and during the elections,” messages on SERAP’s Twitter handle read.
