Illegal miners in Gombe state have been urged to seek alternative means of livelihood.
The Trumpet noticed that this is aimed at bringing to an end, illegal mining of mineral resources across the state.
The declaration was observed to have been made on Wednesday by the state government through the Commissioner of Energy and Mineral Resources, Sanusi Ahmed Maidala.
Making an unscheduled visit to some mining sites in Akko local government council of the state, the government, as made known by him, will no longer appear persons indulging in illegal mining in the state.
He warned that stringent measures would be implemented against those engaging in mining without deeming it necessary to follow due process.
Reeling out the numerous mineral resources scattered across the nooks and crannies of the state, he beckoned at persons encouraging illegal miners to immediately desist from such acts.

Among the numerous mineral resources which the Commissioner believes domiciles in the state include Gypsum, Limestone, Coal, and Granite, to mention but just a few.
He expressed the readiness and determination of the government to give the much-needed helping hands to investors willing to invest in the mining industry.
Assuring potential investors of the government’s full support, the governor, Alhaji Inuwa Yahaya, according to the Commissioner, is committed to creating job opportunities for the youth and enhancing the state’s economy through the mining sector.
