Cyriel Dessers has continued to amaze Feyenoord fans and the football community with his exemplary performance in the Dutch league.

Rated as surplus to requirement in KRC Genk, the Nigeria Super Eagle, who is on loan in Feryenood until the end of the 2021-2022 season, has won the hearts and love of the fans of the Pride of South.

Feyenoord Rotterdam, on Sunday, played a two-all draw with PSV Eindhoven with Dessers scoring a brace to dent the title hopes of the Peasants.

Ajax top the Eredivisie table with PSV Eindhoven also contending for the title, but Dessers’ 86 minutes and stoppage time goals dashed the hope of Roger Schmidt’s team.

Coincidentally, Dessers’ late-minute brace saw the Super Eagle record his 100th international career goal at De Kuip which he acknowledged that there is no better place than Kuip to record such a feat.

“No better place to score your 100th official goal than in an exploding Kuip,” Dessers tweeted after the match.

Dessers, who has been a clinical striker for Feyenoord, is open to making a permanent switch during the end of the summer should the Club de Meuse pay the sum of €4m to secure his services.

Cumulatively, Dessers has scored a total of 20 goals from 45 appearances this season in all competitions, including a consecutive brace against Slavia Prague in the second leg of the quarter-final and Marseille in the first leg of the semi-final of the UEFA Europa Conference League.
