SDP guber candidate vows to make budgetary provision for Taraba pregnant women of elected

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) gubernatorial candidate for Taraba state, Danladi Baido, has expressed commitment to make budgetary provisions for pregnant women in the state if elected.
He said pregnant women will regularly access Antenatal Care (ANC) facilities in their areas for free.
The candidate who yesterday made the pledge through his wife, Mbantira Danladi Baido, in Zing local government council of the state, said ” if elected, my administration will make budgetary provision for incentives for Pregnant Women who attend antenatal care.”
Baido is optimistic that this will go a long way in reducing maternal mortality in the council and the state at large as every pregnant woman will be encouraged to state facilities”.
Wondering why pregnant women should die while giving birth, he beckoned to them to take advantage of the modern equipment that could curtail those preventable deaths.
She appealed to all pregnant women to register and attend antenatal clinics throughout their pregnancy period stressing that “it is the most effective way to nib any challenge in the board on time to avoid death at delivery.”

The candidate whose mission in the council was to interact with pregnant women expressed sadness at the way and manner pregnant women have continued to die “in this part of the world when what is leading to such deaths are preventable.”
She said, “it is disheartening how several women still lose their lives during pregnancy and childbirth in this part of the world when technology has made available modern equipment that could curtail those preventable deaths.”
Baido appealed to pregnant women to ensure to register and attend antenatal clinics all through the period of their pregnancy stressing that, that is the most effective way to nib any challenge in the bud on time to avoid death at delivery.
Healthcare officials in some of the health facilities visited by the candidate, said fifty percent of the pregnant women in the council die due to various forms of complications.
The health official who believed that the people of the council will come out en mass to vote for SDP urged the candidate to reciprocate by adhering to all promises made to the council if eventually elected.
