Liverpool forward Sadio Mané has completed a move to Allianz Arena after weeks of speculations about the future of the Senegalese, who had one year left at Anfield.
Mané, who had his medical in Germany after Liverpool agreed to sell the player to Bayern Munich at €32m plus €9m add-ons, penned a three-year deal which will enable ply his trade in the Bundesliga until 2025.
Relatively, the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) winner becomes the second most valuable player according to the Trademarket assertion.
Consequently, Mane applauded the switch of allegiance to Bavarians, stating that from the onset he had interaction with the Bundesliga champions, he doubtlessly opted to switch to Allianz Arena.
“I’m really happy to finally be at Bayern in Munich,” Mané said on the Bayern’s website.
“We spoke a lot and I felt big interest from this great club right from the beginning, so for me, there were no doubts,” he added.
The 30-year-old Senegalese joined Liverpool from Southampton in 2016 in a deal worth €32m that made him the most expensive African player during that period before Nigerian and Napoli’s striker, Victor Osimhen, surpassed it in a move from Lille to Napoli worth €80m in 2020.

Mane added, “It’s the right time for this challenge. I want to achieve a lot with this club, in Europe too. During my time in Salzburg I watched a lot of Bayern games – I really like this club!”
According to Sky Sports, Mané ‘in a separate farewell interview with Liverpool explained it was important for him to leave the club on good terms, saying:’ “I sent a long text to say goodbye to everybody, which is normal. They were sad, as I was, but it is part of life. We just have to accept it.
“That was the plan from the beginning – to leave Liverpool in a very good way. It was fantastic in the club, in the dressing room.
“I am friendly with everybody, the coaching staff and even the kitchen staff, the ladies in the kitchen! So, for me leaving in a good way is so, so important – and [for] the fans as well.”
Mané played 269 matches scoring 120 goals while he provided 48 assists that complemented Liverpool’s successes during his five-year stay. He won UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA World Club Cup, FA Cup, League Cup and Premier League.
