UN envoy lauds former commissioner for appointment into UN-IPGC advisory panel

Dr Chimbo Obieze, United Nations – International Peace and Governance Council (UN-IPGC) Special Envoy, has lauded Hon. Bonaventure Enemali for his appointment into UN-IPAC Advisory Panel Committee on Governance, Democracy and Electoral Process.

Obieze, who is UN-IPGC Special Envoy on Sustainable Peace Education in Anambra State, gave the commendation while speaking to newsmen in Enugu on Saturday on the recent appointment of Enemali, the immediate past Anambra State Commissioner for Lands.

It would be recalled Enemali’s was conferred with the appointment at an UN event Kigali on Thursday by UN Head of Mission, UN-IPGC in Africa, His Excellency Ambassador Dr Jonathan Ojadah, after his letter of appointment was handed to him.

Enemali, who also served as the state Commissioner for Youths and Sports, was also conferred with an award of an honour and decorated as UN Commander of Peace by UN-COP.

Obieze said that the appointment of Enemali, who is still youth, had shown that Nigeria youths can go places and get to the highest diplomatic and technical heights when given the encouragement.

He applauded the UN-IPGC for having an eye to identify promising youths that had continued to impact lives and shown direction to youths within Nigeria and Africa in general.

“We, in the youth development and educational uplift sectors, are proud of Enemali championing the course of youths and doing all within his youthful strength and ability to put Nigeria youths in the greatest lime light.

“Your conferment and award by the UN is highly commendable.

“We believe that in your usual character, you will also do exploit and bring your dynamism and unique foresight to bear in your new global assignment,” he said.

It would be recalled that the UN-IPGC is an international civil society organisation with headquarters in the US and offices across the globe for diplomatic missions.

Top on UN-IPGC agenda by 2030 is good governance, poverty eradication, and peace building through engagement of stakeholders.

It is a reputable international organisation in partnership with several organs and agencies of the United Nation (UN) in the latter’s bid to delivering its global mandate.
