Rangers International Football Club have announced to kickstart their preseason preparation ahead of the 2022-2023 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season on Monday, September 12, 2022.

This development, made by the club management, will see the players return from their different bases on Sunday.

According to the club’s Media Officer, Norbert Okolie, the Administrative Secretary, Barrister Ferdinand Ugwuarua, decided to hold the resumption date sacrosanct after faulting two earlier resumption dates.

Ugwuarua directed the coaches and technical crew of the Flying Antelopes to put all the necessary things in place as the club set for a full-scale preseason preparation.

“After twice shifting our resumption date, I wish to inform all our retained and those that have agreed to team up with us in the coming season, that we expect them to return and join the training sessions that will take off on Monday, September 12, 2022, as the coaches and management have put facilities in place for the perfect start to the season. It is our belief that the 2022/2023 season will be a fantastic one for us.”

Last season, the Flying Antelopes finished 5th on the NPFL log and missed out on the qualifying spot for a continental football having fallen 6 points below Kwara United which qualified for the CAF Confederations Cup in 3rd with 62 points.

However, Rangers’ administrative secretary has appealed to the club’s fans to unwaveringly support the club as they prepare to burrow their way to achieving a successful season with coach Abdul Maikaba.
