French Open: Recuperated Rafael Nadal returns to training

Rafael Nadal has made a surprising return to training to compete in the French Open Championship taking place on May 22 after he sustained a stress-fractured rib in the Indian Wells final The Trumpet gathered.

The Australian Open champion in a straight-sets loss to Taylor Fritz in Indian Wells final took to Twitter to announce his arrival on Monday.

“Today after 4 weeks without stepping on a tennis court, first soft training,” Nadal tweeted with a picture depicting his training on a Clay Court.

The Spaniard holds a record of 21 Grand Slams titles and hopes to increase his 13 French Open titles to fourteen by next month.

However, Nadal won world number two Daniil Medvedev in the final of the Australian Open without the participation of world number one Novak Djokovic; the Serb stands against the covid19 vaccine.

Nadal, probably, may feature in the ATP Masters 1000 events in Madrid and Rome which are slated from May 1-15, 2022, before participating in the French Open on May 22.

The 35 years old Nadal after enduring Fritz’s defeat in Indian Wells final, revealed that he was unable to breathe in the course of the contest.

Following, he expressed that he felt excruciating pains in his ribs, making him uncomfortable during the game.

Nadal said, “It’s tough for me to breathe. When I try to breathe, it’s painful and it’s very uncomfortable.”
