A player in the English Premier League has been arrested by the Metropolitan Police over an alleged rape incident.
According to a report by The Telegraph, the player whose identity is being concealed for legal reasons has been detained and is currently in custody over the said incident that happened at the latter end of June.
In a statement by the Metropolitan Police, “On 4 July, an allegation of rape of a woman in her 20s was reported to police,” The Trumpet Gathered
“It was reported the alleged rape happened in June 2022.”
“Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing,” the statement added.

The report stated that the player who is currently in detention in north London has seen his club refusing to comment on the issue which may result in him not partaking in the club’s pre-season tour.
Moreover, the said player is expected to go to the World Cup in Qatar with his national team.
