Two suspected kidnappers are presently cooling off their heels in Gombe state police command.
The suspects, Mohammed Aminu and Salisu Sa’idu, according to the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mahid Mu’azu Abubakar, are residents of Tudun wada’s quarters in Gombe metropolis.
In a statement, yesterday made available to news men in the state “detectives attached to the Xsquad SCID Gombe, while acting on credible information, intercepted one Mohammed Aminu of Tudun Wada quarters, Gombe in the process of collecting a ransom of the sum of N300,000.”
Adding that the sum of N100,000 was paid into a Jaiz bank account with the number bearing Mohammed Al’amin Muhammad, on the 14th of September 2022.
He also noted that in the course of investigations, the suspect revealed that he and one Saidu Salisu alias Soja conspired and armed themselves with three AK47 rifles and kidnapped one Jibrin Muhammad of Bantaje village via Wukari LGA of Taraba State and collected the sum of N4,000,000 as ransom.
Upon investigations, one of the suspects (Salisu Sa’idu) was apprehended in Kano State by detectives of the SCID Gombe.
The case is now under investigation after which, they will be charged to court.

The arrest is in continuation with the command’s promise to flush out the undesirable elements from the state.
In another development, the command through the police commissioner, Ishola Babaita enjoined all political parties to eschew violence and not to engage the vulnerable youths in any form of political thuggery.
The warning, as observed by The Trumpet, was necessitated following the upcoming political activities, as presidential campaigns are at the verge of kick-starting.
He also admonished parents and guardians to checkmate the activities of their children and wards before, during as well as after the forthcoming election process.
While appealing to the people of the state not to relent in collaborating with the command and other security outfits, the command, on its part, the commissioner said, would not rest on its oars pending when persons giving the people sleepless nights are brought to their knees.
He said I am appealing to the good people of the state to continue to partner with us by taking a keen interest in issues of their personal security and neighbourhood safety by providing useful information on the activities of any suspicious individuals or groups.
