India 2022: Flamingos 4-0 win humbles Egypt in Abuja

Nigeria U17 female football team thrashed Egypt 4-0 in the first leg of the qualifiers to India 2022 Women World Cup at the MKO National Stadium, Abuja.

Flamingos, after kick-off, started the dominance and finally got their first goal in 28 minutes from Opeyemi Ajakaye.

The goal-thirsty Flamingos did not rest on their oars as 10 minutes after they took the lead, Omowonmi Bello scored in the 38th minute to double the goal margin.

At the start of the second half, Nigeria continued to dominate the pitch with superb performances in all positions while firing from all cylinders to triple the scoreline.

However, the wait was not far-fetched as 9 minutes into the second half, Miracle Usani fires in the third to make it 3-0 for Flamingos.

More so, Omowonmi Bello longing to complete a brace finally got it 8 minutes later after Miracle’s to ice the cake of victory over the Egyptians on a 4-nil streak.

With this win, the Flamingos who will be going for the second left clash in Egypt in a fortnight after a comfortable victory, are most likely to play Ethiopia in the final round of the series for a ticket to the FIFA World Cup in India. Ethiopia trounced South Africa 3-0 away from home on Saturday.
