PDP replaces Abaribe with Aduda as minority leader
Peoples Democratic Party PDP, has appointed Senator Philip Aduda as new Minority Leader of the Senate in replacement of Enyinnaya Abaribe.
Senator Abaribe, the former leader of the minority caucus in the Senate, resigned his position following his defection from PDP after he lost a bid to secure the party’s governorship ticket in Abia State.
He later joined the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) on which platform he has been listed as governorship candidate for Abia State, The Trumpet gathered.
The new Minority Leader, Senator Aduda has been the Senate Minority Whip before his elevation.

This put to rest, speculation in the past two weeks that Senator Uche Ekwunife has been pencilled down for the position of Minority Leader. In his stead, the party nominated Senator Chukwuka Utazi as the new Minority Whip.
The nominations were contained in a letter signed by the National Secretary of the PDP, Senator Samuel Anyawu. The letter was read at the start of Tuesday plenary by the Senate President Ahmad Lawan.
Also, the PDP in its letter to the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, explained that Senator Utazi’s nomination as the new Minority Whip, was as a result of the elevation of Senator Aduda to the position of Minority Leader.
